While in Ghana, Raley was inspired to leave behind a message of unity, culminating in a spontaneous public mural in the village of Adakquame. Designed specifically to cultivate an enduring future relationship between Ghana and America, the work embodies the core purpose behind Raley's founding of Sankofa Vision. The composition seamlessly integrates the American flag with the iconic Ghanaian Black Star emblem, serving as a vibrant symbol of a unified global pursuit of freedom, sovereignty, and shared prosperity. This creative endeavor directly parallels Raley's humanitarian initiatives providing clean water infrastructure across the region. Embracing spray paint for the first time, the artist utilized a raw, immediate mark-making process to establish a lasting monument to shared human dignity.

This work is one of three local murals that Raley has completed. In this most recent project, he worked closely with the owner of Needham Nutrition, a health-based business in Needham, to paint three out of the four walls in the store. This type of work is fun for Zach, as he strives to support local businesses in Needham and genuinely enjoys large-scale projects.

Following the completion of his One People mural, Raley founded (with 3 other members) Sankofa Vision to formalize his commitment to cross-cultural unity. As a founder and driving force behind the organization, Zach spearheads initiatives that connect Ghana and America through the dual lenses of public art and sustainable development, such as regional clean water projects. This upcoming year marks an intentional evolution in his approach. In September 2026, Raley will return to Ghana for a two-and-a-half-month residency to execute a series of new murals. While his previous work was a spontaneous intervention, these upcoming projects will involve extensive advance planning, deep community collaboration, and meticulous conceptual preparation. This ambitious initiative stands as the work Raley is most looking forward to over the next year as he continues to build lasting global relationships.

Commissioned by owner Bernard Chiu, this piece is proudly displayed in the lobby of the Harbor View Hotel—celebrated as one of the top-ranked hotels in America. The project is a personal favorite for Zach, rooted in childhood memories of weekend trips to the Vineyard with his family. Beyond its visual impact, the work's highly public setting has served as a meaningful bridge, sparking unexpected reconnections with old friends and family members across the island.
